Part of the reason Google Chrome is the most popular browser is its refined simplicity. It’s just enough browser, with room for add-ons if you need a bit of extra functionality, but it’s specifically engineered for efficiency. Unfortunately, this means it’s usually a bit boring to look at. For the most part, every Chrome install looks the same — flat, gray, minimalist, with a few pops of color depending on your extensions.
Sometimes you just want Chrome to show a little personality, to look a little different. If that’s the case, you’ve probably ventured into the Chrome Web Store at least once or twice. And let’s be honest, it’s a bit of a mess in there. To help out, we’ve waded through the massive amount of Chrome themes and returned with our favorites.
Oh, and if you’re on a Chromebook, these themes will all work with Chrome OS and Chrome apps, although they won’t work with any non-Chrome apps you may be using on your Chromebook.

As 2018 comes to a close, it’s time to look at some our favorite apps of the year. While not all of these are brand new, many of them popped up onto our radar for the first time in 2018, and are definitely worth the attention. Others are some of our favorites that are still best-in-class despite having been around for some time now. We aim to do things differently at TNW, and as such you’re not going to find the recommendations you’re probably used to seeing: Gmail, Skype, Dropbox, and the like.
