Starting now, a new kind of Pokémon game is available on Android and iOS devices around the world. Pokémon Masters takes a unique approach to the series, with trainers and Pokémon working together to prove they are the true champions in a tournament on the island of Pasio. Iconic trainers and their Pokémon from all generations make an appearance.
Collecting trainers instead of Pokémon themselves is quite a departure for the series, but the game is well polished and great fun for Pokéfans of all ages. ?What is Pokémon Masters

Pokémon Masters is a single player mobile game from Japanese developer DeNA. It focuses primarily on Pokémon trainers and their relationship with a single Pokémon, rather than collecting and leveling a variety of Pokémon. Check out the overview video above for more details.

A Pokémon Masters was officially released on August 29, 2019.

?Where does Pokémon Masters take place

Pokémon Masters takes place on the artificial island of Pasio, somewhere in the Pokémon universe. Trainers and their favorite Pokémon from across the world have gathered on the island for the Pokémon Masters League.

?What do you do in Pokémon Masters

Unlike other Pokémon games, Pokémon Masters is all about meeting and befriending other trainers and their Pokémon, called sync pairs. Each sync pair has a single Pokémon, and you’ll need to form a team of three sync pairs to battle your way to the top of the Pokémon Masters League.pokemon masters screenshots

?Is Pokémon Masters free-to-play

Pokémon Masters is free-to-play with in-app-purchases may speed up progress. In-app purchases range from $0.99 to $79.99, but aren’t necessary to complete the game.

No. Pokémon Masters requires and internet connection to play.

How much storage space does Pokémon Masters require?

Pokémon Masters requires 1.3 GB of storage to install. 

?What is combat like in Pokémon Masters

Combat is real-time in Pokémon Masters. Your team of three Pokémon trainers and their Pokémon face off against another team of three controlled by a computer opponent. Trainers can also get in on the action by using abilities that buff or heal their Pokémon. Once a certain number of abilities have been used, you can unleash powerful sync moves to turn the tide of the fight.

?Which trainers are in Pokémon Masters

Pokémon trainers from Red and Blue to Sun and Moon can be found in Pokémon Masters, including Brock, Misty, Cynthia, Flannery, Thorton, and Korrina. Even Red and Blue themselves make an appearance. Each trainer has a signature Pokémon, but some special Sygna versions of trainers change their selected Pokémon. As an example, when Synga Suit Brock is accompanied by a Tyranitar instead of Onix.

?Does Pokémon Masters have online multiplayer

Pokémon Masters has a co-op mode which lets you team up with two other players in 3V3 battles against AI opponents. Currently, there are no plans to add PvP battles to Pokémon Masters.

?Is Pokémon Masters linked to Pokémon Go

Not that we’ve seen so far. DeNA’s new game appears to be its own beast (or should we say pocket monster) that may not have any link with Niantic’s hit AR game.
