From Chromebooks to MacBooks, here are the best laptop deals for July 2019

One of the best laptops on the market today — and in fact, for several years running — is Dell’s diminutive XPS 13. The latest version has the same tiny bezels as always but puts the webcam above the display where it belongs, removing one of the only complaints we had about the machine.
It’s incredibly well-built, looks great, and performs well. It even has a hinge that is designed to open easily while also providing just the right amount of rigidity to keep it in place.
Right now, Dell has a sale on a solid configuration of the newest model, bringing it down to just $1,030. That nets you an eighth-generation Core i5-8265U CPU, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB PCIe solid-state drive (SSD), and a Full HD display.

HP SPECTRE X360 13 (2019) – $1,000HP Spectre x360 13 (late 2018)

If you’re looking for a convertible 2-in-1 that works as well as a laptop as it does as a tablet, then you need to look no further than the HP Spectre x360 13. The latest “gem-cut” version scored a perfect 10/10 in our review on the strength of its stunning good looks, excellent performance, high-quality build, and mind-blowing battery life. The version we’re listing here has a power-sipping Full HD display that saves battery life, as well as an eighth-generation Whiskey Lake Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD.
Right now, HP has this lovely laptop on sale for $150 off, bringing the price down to $1,000. That’s a nice break, but keep an eye on this one because the price has been even lower recently.

MICROSOFT SURFACE PRO 6 WITH TYPE COVER— $910Microsoft Surface Pro 6

Microsoft’s excellent Surface Pro series continues to be one of the best attempts at bridging the gap between tablets and laptops. The new Surface Pro 6 is actually our favorite 2-in-1 Windows 10 computer on the market today, picking up where the older Surface Pro model from 2017 took off. It features a solid build quality and superb battery life. As great as the Surface Pro 6 is, though, you typically have to buy the keyboard case separately (and it’s not really a “2-in-1” laptop without it).
Luckily, Microsoft has the Surface Pro 6 bundle on sale right now for over $300 off, letting you score this Windows 10 tablet/PC hybrid with a black- or platinum-colored Type Cover keyboard case for $910 for the model with 8GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD, and an Intel Core i5 processor. This makes it a great device for most day-to-day productivity and media consumption tasks.
You can also pick up a Surface Pro 6 all by itself at Amazon for $174 off, bringing it down to $725 for a Core i5, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD. Not bad.

MICROSOFT SURFACE LAPTOP (GEN 1) — $720Surface Laptop First Impressions

Microsoft’s Surface Laptop was the company’s first foray into the traditional clamshell laptop sector. The machine sports a variety of colors – Platinum, Burgundy, Cobalt Blue, and Graphite Gold — with Alcantara fabric on the keyboard deck and an all-aluminum chassis.
The original version of the Surface Laptop sports seventh-generation Intel Core CPUs, so performance is good for productivity tasks, with solid battery life and an awesome keyboard and touchpad experience. The display is the real standout, with superior brightness and contrast, as well as the productivity-friendly 3:2 aspect ratio (2,256 x 1,504 resolution).
Amazon has that first generation on sale for up to 45 percent off. That’s for the Platinum color with an Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD.

ACER ASPIRE E15 — $329Acer Aspire E 15 Review

Acer might be known for its Chromebooks, but this brand built its name on affordable Windows laptops like the Aspire series. The 15-inch Acer Aspire E 15is the perfect entry-level work computer, running on an eighth-generation Intel Core i3-8130U CPU, 6GB of RAM, and a 1TB hard drive. It also can be upgraded easily. Just pop open the bottom of the laptop and add extra RAM, as well as faster solid-state-drive storage, if you see fit.
At $329 from Amazon, it is around the same price as (or even cheaper than) many of the best Chromebooks.
